The Playable Media Report becomes the SEG3 Report
Thank you! I owe you one.
Like the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly, The Playable Media Report is becoming the SEG3 Report.
But like all great leaving notes, I want to thank you and assure you that this is not the end, but rather the beginning!
I set out to write a newsletter last year for a couple of simple reasons. Beyond loving the topics covered and actively committing to learning about new trends each week, the most notable reason was to hold myself accountable.
I work for myself, and although I haven’t yet started calling myself an entrepreneur, I have cofounded a business - Happy Fan Inc. With this new self-governance, there is a feeling that there is no one here to hold me accountable.
In reality, this is not the case, I have a business partner, I have consulting clients, and I have a wonderful wife and adorable baby daughter. I am very accountable to all of them for my actions in life and business. However, without a “boss” there is less demand to hit deadlines, other than those that are self-imposed.
This newsletter changed that for me. In committing to a weekly newsletter, I had a deadline each week. These feelings of accountability have grown as you - the subscribers - have grown! I want to thank you for signing up, opening these emails, and holding me accountable - whether you realised what you were doing, or not.
Why should you care?
Well this time, only you can answer that. Have you enjoyed the Playable Media Report?
If the answer is “YES!” or even “Kinda 🤷🏻♂️”, then sign up for the SEG3 Report, and you can expect more of the same.
SEG3 is a brilliant event and community founded by Joe Condon. Joe and I met recently and immediately agreed on the parallels between SEG3 and Playable Media. In short, the topics we aim to cover are the same.
Merging The Playable Media Report into SEG3 communication efforts will only increase the feeling of accountability while opening up this newsletter to a larger audience and community. However, one should never forget where they get their start, and by simply reading this note, you represent that start.
So, thank you! I owe you one - coffee, beer, game of golf? - hit me up in London, and we’ll make it happen.
As ever,
John G.
